Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Bambyte Games collects when you play our games or visit bambyte.io, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers all our games on every platform we publish on, including Google Play, the Apple App Store, Facebook Instant Games and TikTok, unless a game shows you a different privacy policy.

1. Who we are

Bambyte Games (“Bambyte”, “we”, “us”) is the trading name of CÔNG TY TNHH CÔNG NGHỆ BAMBYTE (BAMBYTE LLC), a company registered in Vietnam under enterprise code 2500754489, with its head office at TDP Núi, Phường Vĩnh Yên, Tỉnh Phú Thọ, Việt Nam. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy, which means we decide why and how it is used. You can reach us at hello@bambyte.io. Our full contact details are under Contact us.

The platforms you play on, Apple, Google, Meta and TikTok, are separate companies. They collect their own data about you under their own privacy policies, which we don't control.

2. What we collect

Data you give us

• When you email us for support, feedback or anything else: your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write or attach.
• When you apply for a job: your CV and anything else you send us, such as your portfolio, contact details and work history.

Data collected when you play

• Device and app information: device model, operating system and version, language, time zone and game version.
• Identifiers: IDs that the game or its partners create for your installation, the identifiers your platform gives each developer (such as the vendor ID on iOS and the app set ID on Android) and, in games with ads, your device's advertising identifier. On iOS, we only access the advertising identifier if you allow it.
• Gameplay data: your progress, the levels you play, scores, settings, how often and how long you play, and in-game events that show us how the game is used.
• Ad data: which ads you were shown, whether you tapped them, and whether you watched a rewarded ad to the end.
• Purchase data: what you bought, when, the price and currency, and a transaction ID from the platform. We never receive your card or bank details.
• Technical data: your IP address, crash reports and performance data. We use your IP address to estimate your country or region. We don't collect your precise location.

Data from the platforms you play on

Depending on the platform, the game and the permissions you give, the platform may share some of the following with us:

• Google Play Games and Apple Game Center: your player ID, display name and avatar, and your achievements and leaderboard scores.
• Facebook Instant Games: a player ID for that game, your name and profile picture, your language and, if you play in a chat or group, an ID for that chat and the names and pictures of the other players in it.
• TikTok: a player ID for that game and, if you allow it, your TikTok display name and profile picture.

No platform gives us your password or your private messages.

Our website

bambyte.io has no cookies, no analytics, no ad trackers and no forms.

• Your language choice, English or Vietnamese, is saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it. It stays on your device.
• The web version of Drop the Pet! saves your progress in your browser's local storage and syncs it to our game server under a random guest ID that the game creates in your browser. You don't need to sign in. Clearing your browser data removes the guest ID from your device; to delete the copy on our server, see How to delete your data.
• Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser, pages requested and time, to deliver and protect the site.

3. How we use it

We use personal data only for the purposes below. If you're in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, Switzerland or anywhere else the law asks for a legal basis, the basis for each purpose is shown under it.

• To run the games: start the game, save and restore your progress, deliver what you buy and remember your settings. Legal basis: performing our contract with you, the Terms of Use.
• To show ads in games that have them, which is how we keep those games free. Personalised ads use your advertising identifier and your interests. Non-personalised ads still use basic device data to limit how often you see the same ad, prevent fraud and count views. Legal basis: your consent for personalised ads, and for storing or reading information on your device, where the law requires it; otherwise our legitimate interest in funding free games.
• To improve the games: see how the game is played, fix crashes and bugs, balance levels and test new features. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in making better games, or your consent where the law requires it.
• To measure our marketing: learn which of our ads led you to install a game. Legal basis: your consent where the law requires it; otherwise our legitimate interest in knowing what our marketing achieves.
• To keep the games fair and safe: detect cheating, fraud and abuse, and protect our systems. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting our players and our games.
• To talk to you: answer your emails and support requests and, if a game offers them and you allow them, send push notifications about the game. You can turn notifications off in your device settings. Legal basis: performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in replying to you, or your consent for notifications.
• To hire people: review applications and contact candidates. Legal basis: steps you ask us to take before a possible employment contract, and your consent if we keep your application for future roles.
• To meet our legal obligations: keep tax and accounting records, respond to lawful requests from authorities, and establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Legal basis: our legal obligations, and our legitimate interest in protecting our rights.

You don't have to give us any personal data, but some of it is needed for a game to work. Without it, features such as saving progress, purchases or ads may not work.

We don't make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

4. Ads and your choices

Some of our games are free and paid for by ads. The ads come from advertising partners, meaning ad networks and ad mediation services whose software is built into the game, or, on Facebook and TikTok, from the platform itself.

• Personalised ads are chosen based on interests that ad partners infer from your advertising identifier and your activity across apps and websites.
• Non-personalised ads are chosen based on context, such as the game you're playing and your general location.

Your choices:

• Consent: where the law requires it, for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, the game asks for your consent before showing personalised ads. You can change your choice at any time from the privacy settings in the game, where available, or by emailing us.
• iOS: we only access your advertising identifier if you allow it when the tracking prompt appears. You can change this at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
• Android: you can delete or reset your advertising ID in your device settings, usually under Settings > Privacy > Ads or Settings > Google > Ads.
• Rewarded ads are always optional. You decide whether to watch one to get a reward.

Turning off personalised ads doesn't remove ads. You'll still see them, but they will be less relevant to you.

5. Who we share it with

We share personal data only as described here, and only as much as each purpose needs.

• Platforms: Apple, Google, Meta and TikTok distribute our games, process payments and provide features such as leaderboards. They handle data under their own privacy policies: Apple, Google, Meta and TikTok.
• Service providers that work for us, such as hosting, analytics, crash reporting and email providers. They may only use the data to provide their services to us.
• Advertising and measurement partners: in games with ads, the partners built into the game receive device, identifier and ad data to show ads, limit repeats, prevent fraud and measure results. Some of them also use this data for their own purposes, such as personalising ads across apps, under their own privacy policies.
• Authorities and others, when the law requires it, or when it's needed to protect the rights, safety or property of our players, of Bambyte or of others.
• A new owner, if Bambyte or one of our games is sold or merged with another company. The new owner must keep protecting your data as this policy describes.

We require everyone we share personal data with to protect it at least as well as this policy does. We don't sell your personal data for money. You can ask us at any time which partners a particular game uses.

6. International transfers

We are based in Vietnam, and our partners process data in other countries, including the United States. These countries may not have the same data protection laws as yours. When personal data leaves the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or on our partners' own approved transfer mechanisms.

7. How long we keep it

• Gameplay, device and analytics data: while you play, and for up to 24 months after your last activity. After that we delete it or make it anonymous. Data saved on your device stays there until you delete the game or its data.
• Purchase records: as long as tax and accounting laws require.
• Emails and support requests: up to 24 months after we finish handling them.
• Job applications: if we don't hire you, we delete your application once recruitment for the role closes, unless you agree that we keep it for future roles, in which case we keep it for up to 12 months. If we hire you, it becomes part of your employee records.

We keep data longer only when the law requires it, or when we need it to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Partners that use data for their own purposes keep it under their own policies.

8. Security

We protect personal data with measures that fit the risk, such as encrypted connections, access limited to the people on our team who need it, and careful choice of service providers. No system is perfectly secure, though. If a breach puts your data at risk, we'll tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

9. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

• tell you whether we hold personal data about you, and give you a copy of it;
• correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
• delete your data (see How to delete your data);
• limit how we use your data, or stop using it for a purpose that relies on our legitimate interests;
• give you the data you provided in a common, machine-readable format;
• withdraw any consent you gave. This doesn't affect what we did before you withdrew it.

Email hello@bambyte.io with the subject “Privacy request”, and tell us which game you play, on which platform, and your player ID if the game shows one. Because you play without an account with us, these details are often the only way we can find your data. We may ask for information to confirm the request is yours, but no more than we need. We reply within one month, or sooner if your local law requires it, and it's free.

If you're unhappy with how we handled your request, you can complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live or work.

10. How to delete your data

You can ask us to delete the personal data we hold about you at any time:

1. Email hello@bambyte.io with the subject “Delete my data”.
2. Tell us the game, the platform (Google Play, App Store, Facebook or TikTok) and your player ID if the game shows one, usually in its settings.
3. We confirm your request, delete your data from our systems within 30 days, and ask our service providers to do the same. We only keep what the law requires us to keep, such as purchase records.

You can also:

• delete the game from your device, which removes the data saved on it;
• remove the game in your Facebook or TikTok settings, so the platform stops sharing your data with us;
• reset or delete your advertising identifier (see Ads and your choices).

Apple, Google, Meta and TikTok control the data they hold about you, such as your purchase history. To delete that, contact them directly.

11. Children

Our games are made for a general audience and are not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under 13, or under the higher age that applies in your country. If you think a child has given us personal data, email hello@bambyte.io and we'll delete it.

12. If you live in the United States

Some US states, including California, give residents specific rights over their personal data. This section adds to the rest of this policy.

• What we collect: identifiers, such as device and advertising IDs, IP address and player IDs; commercial information, meaning purchase records; internet or other electronic network activity, meaning gameplay and ad interactions; approximate location from your IP address; inferences about your interests made by ad partners; and professional or employment information if you apply for a job. What we collect and How we use it explain where this comes from and why, and How long we keep it covers retention. We don't collect sensitive personal information as these laws define it.
• Selling, sharing and targeted ads: we don't sell personal data for money. But when a game shows personalised ads, the ad partners in it receive identifiers, activity data and approximate location, which these laws may treat as “selling” or “sharing” personal information, or as “targeted advertising”. You can opt out at any time with the choices in Ads and your choices, or by emailing hello@bambyte.io with the subject “Do not sell or share my personal information”. We don't knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
• Your rights: to know what we collect and get a copy, to have it corrected or deleted, to opt out of selling, sharing and targeted ads, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. You can also ask through an authorised agent; we may ask the agent for proof and confirm your identity with you. We reply within 45 days, and may extend this by another 45 days if we need to, telling you why.
• Appeals: if we turn down your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision. If we turn down your appeal, you can contact your state's attorney general.

13. Changes to this policy

We'll update this policy when our games, our partners or the law change. We'll post the new version here with a new date at the top, and for important changes we'll also let you know in the game or on this website.
